Swimming Lessons

Last night, Lily graduated from "Starfish" swimming lessons!  Woo Hoo...way to go Lily! She has been taking lessons for the past 2 months at the YMCA.  Lessons are just once a week.  She has really gotten pretty good at swimming, and much more confident in the water.  I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a scary thing for mom?!  We will take a break from the next session because she starts basketball on Saturday!

Mommy and Daddy are proud of you Lily Rose!

Lily's Hello Kitty 5th Birthday Party

 The party clan!

More than 6 weeks later, I still can't believe my big girl is FIVE!  Lily had her 5th birthday party on Sunday September 15th.  She chose "Hello Kitty" as the theme this year.  Her birthday party was PINK and FULL OF SUGAR!  We had cake, ice cream, cookies, candy and popcorn balls for the guests.  Jason told me that the parents were going to hate me from the sugar high I was giving their kids!

We had a great turnout for her party.  Jason and I are very thankful for everyone who came to help us celebrate Lily's special day.  She had a great time with all of her friends.  She is already talking about what she wants to do when she turns 6...slow down kid!

Splash Pad

I didn't realize that the pools in Omaha closed on August 11th.  We didn't get to the pool much this past summer, and then by the time it was super hot out...they were closed!  Being the end of October already, I can't remember if we went to the splash pad in late August or early September???  It doesn't matter.  The pictures and posts are for the girls memories...and for mine later on!

Omaha has several FREE splash pads around.  We went to one near our Church.  It was a HOT, HOT day and it would have been too hot to just sit at the park with no water.  This was PERFECT!  Avery was not a fan of the water at first, but once she warmed up she had a ball.  Avery was content playing by herself, and I really think this was because she didn't want to get splashed by anyone.  Lily, on the other hand, went up to any kid she saw and tried to play with them.  She even sat down next to a little girl who was having a picnic with her mom, and the girl ended up giving Lily part of her lunch!

September 12th 2013

Lily woke up on her birthday morning a happy little girl.  This is not usually the case.  She usually has to be dragged out of bed and it is not pleasant.  She is not a morning person, but because it was her birthday she decided to wake up happy!  I woke Lily up at exactly 6:42am as I do every year.  I sing her Happy Birthday at the exact time of her birth.  She hopped right out of bed and meandered downstairs because she knew she had some presents waiting to be opened!  We let her open up some of her gifts before dad went off to work for the day.  Avery was of course already awake.  She is our morning bird.  It doesn't matter what time she goes to bed...she is up by 6:30 everyday!  Lily opened up her gifts, and then we met Daddy at the Amazing Pizza Machine later that afternoon for lunch and playtime.  I had to work that night, but I'm certain she had a special day...I love you my little Lily bit!

Westwood Church WNL Lift Off!

Each September our Church has a big lift off for the Wednesday night season.  It is always a HUGE carnival that is free to the community.  It is a giant celebration for the kids to help them kick off "Wednesday Night Live".  Both girls are old enough to attend Wednesday Night Live this year.  We usually eat dinner at Church at 5:30, and then their classes start at 6:15 and go until 8:00pm.  This makes for a long day/night, but they really enjoy it.  This is when they start learning and singing their songs for the Christmas program.  They are still too little to be in the BIG Christmas program, but they will both sing their songs on Sunday December 15th at the 9:45 service.

After waiting in line for cotton candy they decided they didn't like it...neither does mom!
