LiLy'S sOcCeR...aNoThEr FiRsT

It was a nightmare getting Lily registered for soccer this year with the YMCA.  In the end she got on a team, but they didn't have a coach.  Jason stepped up and volunteered to coach a group of 7 3 and 4 year old girls and boys.  Wow...what an awesome daddy!

Lily's first soccer game was on Saturday April 6th at Millard Central Middle School.  It was a cold and windy day for soccer!  Jason did his research (he has never played soccer) and found some drills for little kids.  The first half is spent with each team doing drills and "practicing", and the next half is the "game" against the other team.  I wasn't sure how Lily would do after her basketball experience a year ago.  This little girl impressed me beyond belief!  I was so proud of her.  She hustled, ran hard and stayed focused the whole game.  I could really tell what a difference one year makes.  She was too young at 3 to play basketball, but at age 4 she was really into it!

PaPa, Aunt Kylie, Uncle Brian, Presley and Maddie came to cheer her on.  I was in charge of video, pics and Avery.  I had Avery in the stroller and I turned around briefly and when I turned back around I hear "Look at me Mommy!"  Avery had gotten out of the stroller and run onto the middle of the field!  Little turkey!  Jason did a great job with all of the kiddos.  He made sure to get everyone equal playing time and did his best to keep them going and interested in what was going on.  I love that he has this time with his daughter.  I remember my dad always being at all of my athletic events and coaching me.  It was so nice to have that extra special time with him.

Lily has a game every Saturday afternoon until the end of May.  This past weekend I was out of town, but Lily had Aunt Trina and cousin Rachel there to cheer her on!  They won their first game 7-1 (one little boy had all 7 goals), and they lost their next game and only scored 1 goal.  Most importantly, they are having FUN!

"Daddy, I know I'm the coach's daughter, but I still want to play!"
She fell down hard, but got right back up and kept on running for the ball!

Lily's Zoo Fieldtrip

Lily took her very first field trip to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo on Friday April 5th.  She went with her preschool class and she took her very first ride on a yellow school bus!  She was so excited and asked me everyday that week if she was going on the school bus that day.  I was informed that Lily was the only child that wouldn't have a parent going with her.  This broke my heart, but I had a conference that day and just couldn't go.  I knew she would be fine and have a good time regardless.  I am thankful that our neighbor boys were also going and their mom took a couple of pics of her.  Lily had a great time and she even sat by her little boyfriend, Connor, on the bus.

A Few Faves

I have to get these on the Blog because I just LOVE them!

Easter 2013

Jason was off on Good Friday so he headed up to Newcastle with the girls.  I worked Friday night and slept on Saturday before heading up myself on Saturday evening.  The girls had so much fun on the farm with Grandma Romaine and Grandpa Eddie.  They got to see Toby the cat, the Easter Bunny, ride on the four wheeler (much to mom's dislike), visit with their cousins, watch Hop the movie and run around all over outside!

We went to church in Sioux City on Sunday morning before heading over to Uncle Lonnie's house for Easter lunch.  Thanks for having us Lonnie and Terri...lots of food and lots of people!  After lunch the girls got to hunt for Easter eggs...lots of Easter eggs!  After playing for a while and visiting we packed up and headed back to Omaha.  We of course had to stop and GaGa and PaPa's house to pick up another Easter basket!  I went through all of their stuff today and each girl got 3 baskets, each got a Barbie, each got a Leap Pad game, more candy than you can count or ever want to eat, each got a book and they each for 3 stuffed animals!  Spoiled??  No...I call it LOVED!
We planted magic jellybeans on Saturday night and they grew into GIANT Lollipops!

 Lily found her basket first!

There were baby chicks and baby ducklings at Uncle Lonnies!
