We've done a lot of things with the girls this holiday season, and so I'm lumping the pics all into one post! This is what happens when you get so far behind...I can't remember everything, so these posts become mostly pictures and less "blogging."
We took the girls to the Santa Parade at Village Pointe. It is held every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We met my brother, Mindy, Bubba, my sister, Brian, Presley and my parents there. They have an Elf band that plays music while everyone waits for Santa to come. This year Elsa and Olaf were there too! We couldn't see the parade, but we did see Santa and Mrs. Claus when they arrived up on stage. The big thing here is the lighting of the giant Christmas Tree in the center of Village Pointe.
The following Friday night, Lily had the "Jingle Jam" at her school. This is a fundraiser for the PTO and another chance for the kids to see Santa and get their picture taken with him. There were games for the kids to play...Avery wanted no part of the games...imagine that. We ate at Pizza Hut beforehand to use another one of Lily's hard earned Book It certificates.

And...we went to see Big Hero 6...super cute movie! I didn't want to go, and Jason said nobody was going if Mom didn't go. I gave in and said only if I could wear my blue sweatpants and Husker hoodie...they agreed! Lily is very particular about what I wear...she does not like me to pick her up from school in my PJ's...doesn't she understand her mom works the night shift?!?
This past weekend was the Daycare Christmas Party. Avery is the only one that currently goes to Daycare, but the providers invite kids from the past every year to this event. Stephanie and Becci's mom and dad dress up like Santa and Mrs. Claus and give each kiddo a present. It is held at Sam and Louie's Pizza and it is always packed! It is so nice that they invite ALL of the kids they have cared for and they give them ALL a gift...and gifts for mom and dad too!
The next morning we took the girls to see Santa and a live Reindeer out at The Shoppes of Lakeside. They had free juice and donuts and a chance to spin a wheel to win a prize. It was no big deal, but the girls did like seeing the Reindeer. Santa told them this year he brought Vixen with him. Santa also told Lily that she better ask for her two front teeth this year...she thought that was pretty silly!
And here are just a few more pics of the holiday season around our house...
