SuNdAy FuNdAy

We had a busy Sunday last week as you can already see from all of the previous posts.  I had way too many pictures to put them all in one post so I had to divide them up.  After the Easter Egg hunt we all came home and took a nap...well the girlies and the daddy did.  Mommy went for a run.  It was such a nice day out that it was hard to not be outside all day long.  When the girls woke up and I got home we headed back outside.  Lily and Jason tried to fly her kite that she got last Easter, and Avery wanted to ride her big wheel.  Avery sat down on her big wheel and Lily plopped her helmet on her head and said to her little sister, "Here Avery, you need to be safe."  Always looking out for her...at least when they aren't fighting!  They got the kite up for a little while, but the string is broken and I think it is time for a new one.  All that matters is that they had a good time and Lily doesn't know any different.  She just likes spending one on one time with her dad.

Notice the Elmo and penguin doll in her basket...they are her travleling buddies.

Church Easter Egg Hunt

I'm a week behind on this post, but I had to get it on the books for the girls!  Last Sunday was the Easter Egg Hunt at our Church.  They have one every year for the kids.  Its for any kids...not just those who attend Westwood.  It is always packed and always a good time for everyone.  The event started off with a puppet show, and ended with the egg hunt.  Each kid got to find 11 eggs, and I think they all got their limit!

Palm Sunday

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”  John 12:13

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday.  Lily was so excited because she got to walk through the aisles during the service waving a palm branch.  She was not shy and she made her mom and dad very proud!  I remember every Palm Sunday as a little kid at church.  I went to the same church that we still attend.  We always had a parade from our church (132nd and Center) down to the corner of 132nd and Center.  Everybody waved their palm branches.
We went to pick Lily up in her classroom after the service, and she wasn't there.  This is the second time this has happened.  At least this time I knew exactly where to look for her...in the 4-5 year old room.  I know she looks older than 3, but I would think by now they would know her and where she belongs!  She didn't care.  She came out and told me she was a pre-schooler now!  After church we picked up my grandma and took her to breakfast...it was a fun little morning!

First Zoo Trip of the Season

Jason took the day off last Friday so I could sleep.  There have been way too many days that I have had to stay up for 30+ hours with the girls, so he offered to take a vacation day so I didn't have to stay awake all day with them after working all night.  When he said he was going to take them to the zoo, I was like "I'm going too!"  He said, "I thought I'm home so you can sleep."  Well, yes, he was, but Avery hadn't been to the zoo since she was tiny and I knew she would really like it at her age and I wasn't going to miss it!  I got home from work around 9:30am and we were off for the zoo by 10:00.  It was bEaUtIfUl outside and we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather to be outside in.  Lily really wanted to see the sharks in the Aquarium, but it is closed for remodeling and additions until this Thursday.  She was okay with that and we headed off into the jungle!  I think a favorite of the day was playing at the playground and the polar bears.  Lily also liked the giraffes (she says they look like daddy), and she entered a contest to name the new baby girl giraffe that was born a few weeks ago.  Any guesses on what she named her???  Girl BARBIE...I'm surprised she didn't name it after a Disney Princess.  Avery wanted to walk most of the time and she actually did really well.  She had her bunny in hand (it goes everywhere with us) and she even walked up one of the giant hills by herself!  I think she did better than I did...I was getting a little crabby towards the end of our visit!

 Watching the bears.

She is not afraid of anything...my little monkey!

 Tired baby girl.
 Best buddies.

They walked up the BIG hill all by themselves!

 Love her...

Lily looks after her baby sister and it melts mommy's heart.
Bunny is always in hand...no matter where we go.

Watching the fishies before we say goodbye.
