Labor Day/Birthday Celebration

We headed to Newcastle on Sunday morning for a 4th birthday celebration and a Labor Day celebration!  Most of Lily's Kneifl cousins were around the farm on Sunday so we celebrated her 4th birthday a little early.  She had a Brave cupcake cake and she was blessed with family and lots of nice gifts.  It is hard to believe she is going to be FOUR!  She continues to grow up right before our eyes, and her dad and I couldn't be more proud of her!  We love you Silly Lily!

Toby the Cat

I felt that this one deserved its own post...
She is my little animal lover and she has NO FEAR.  As much as I dislike cats, this was one of the cutest things I have ever seen.  Avery has taken a special liking to Toby the cat on Grandma Romaine's farm.  She picked him up outside and carried him all the way inside by herself.  I nearly died when I saw her standing in the living room with a cat!  She would have played all day outside with him if we would have let her.  She cuddled him, dragged him, strangled him, fed him, gave him water, and even crawled under the Suburban to get him out.  I think the poor cat had enough of little Avery at one point and was trying to escape her!  She toted around her little Teddy Bear and the cat ALL DAY. She may be as ornery as they come, but she is just as precious...love her.

You can just about imagine what came out of my mouth when I saw this!

Thank goodness for visits to the farm because this household will NEVER own a cat!  Sorry Aves!

Husker Football Kickoff

My little Husker Fans!  Jason and I were fortunate enough to have gotten to go to the first Husker game of the year...thanks to my mom and dad.  My dad usually takes my niece or nephew, but this time he took us!  The lady who has the seats next to his said "You need to bring them more often, I really like them!" To which my dad replies "Maybe in another 10 years!"
My parents picked us up at 10:00am and we got to Lincoln around 11:00.  We ate lunch and enjoyed some adult beverages at Old Chicago.  It was hotter than heck out, but we still walked around for what felt like FOREVER before the game started. We went to the bookstore, around the University, and to Jason's brother's tailgate (Matt, Sabina and Miles were there).  It was fun running into them.  We headed into the stadium around 2:00pm.  I am a Husker fan, but not a die hard one as many Nebraskan's are.  I like football and I  like to see them win, but most of all I just like the atmosphere.  It is a fun time of year and there is nothing quite like Memorial Stadium on Husker game day!  We had a blast and we owe a HUGE THANK YOU to Jessica and Kevin for watching the girls all day!  As if her two kiddos aren't enough to manage!
