4 Months Old!

It is hard to believe that our little girl is 4 months old today! She is growing up so FAST and right before our very eyes! Last night we gave her rice cereal for the first time. It was messy as you can tell from the picture above, but I think she liked it. I made it to runny last night and in the end she ended up taking it by bottle, so today I thickened it up and she ate it by spoon.
One of my favorite pics of Lily...she has just recently started sucking her thumb. It is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen! She usually does it when she starts to get tired. She has never really taken a binky, but man she really sucks on that thumb! She will only suck the left one.
Getting ready for cereal!
Jason bought Lily this outfit for Christmas...it is so stinkin cute on her! I must say that the hat is the best part!
Lily and Mommy before going out to dinner last Friday on that awful snowy, icy night! We braved the weather (not truly knowing how bad it really was until we were outside on the road) and had a nice dinner out with our daughter.
Lily playing in her bouncy toy...she can reach the toys and make the music play all on her own now!
Such a tired little girl. I am having a hard time with her little chubby cheeks this winter. I have tried using her Aveeno Baby Lotion on them, but then she gets little red bumps. Any suggestions? They are just so dry and chapped from winter.
Lily's first FOOD! I tasted this stuff and I'm not sure how anyone...even babies...can eat it!
This is Lily holding her own bottle of rice cereal and feeding herself...she can't hang on for long, but she is starting to grab things and pick them up now. The other day I put her rattle in her hand and she held on to it for a long time...the only problem was it was a HARD rattle and she bonked herself in the head with it and started to cry.
Getting ready to take a bath...her cereal was all over her and very sticky!
Lily in her "Jenny Jump Up". Daddy bought her this for Christmas, and we tried it out for the first time last night. She doesn't really know what to do in it yet other than just sit.
In her crib watching her mobile. It doesn't matter what time of day...she LOVES her mobile and she would lay in her crib all day to watch it if I would let her! If she gets into one of her screaming moments...this is often the only way to calm her down. We lay her in her crib with her mobile on for just a few minutes and then she is a happy baby!
Jason and I hope all who read Lily's blog enjoy watching her grow up as much as we do. She is often a wild and funny little girl. I look ahead for our future with her, but at the same time it makes us sad how fast she is growing. We enjoy cuddling with her every chance we get! She goes in on Thursday for her 4 month check-up and shots...I will post again after that.

Hi Missy:) Remember me, from good 'ol Millard South? I've been following your blog, she is the cutest little girl! I was just writing to tell you what we use on the chubby cheeks in our house! It's called Aquaphor. I'm sure you know what it is, being a nurse...kind of a vaseline consistency, we put it on right before bed, not too much though-don't want to get it in her eyes:) Hope that helps!!

I can't believe how much she has grown in a month!! She's too cute!!And you're right, it really does happen way too quickly. :( We're trying to enjoy each day as it comes and to not look to the next big thing all the time.

Ayla's cheeks are the same way...I saw on the Today Show that just plain old Vaseline does the trick if they have really sensitive skin. I've been putting a thin layer on in the morning and after her bath at night and it's been working really well.

Good luck with those darn shots...I'm not looking forward to that!

Hey she is a doll!! Austin has the same stuff on his cheeks, head, ears, and sometimes legs!! We are usin cetaphil moisturizing lotion on his spots about 3 times a day (whenever we remember) and if it gets really bad and broken out we'll put some hydrocortisone cream on it and it clears it up within the day with just one application. Our ped said to put a layer of vasoline on it before we take him outside in the weather, allthough to be honest we haven't tried this yet. Usually the lotion keeps it under control and we've had to use the hydrocortisone like maybe 3 times.
